Find Your Art!
Firstly let's define the term art and more specifically fine art vs. art.
What is the difference? Well, fine art is a machine for thinking before anything else, Regardless of the artist’s medium. It makes you think further, it is conceptual, transformative and doesn't resume to a finite object.
Now, more often than not, in every day interiors there is no budget for fine art but just for art.
So lets define the purpose of ‘casual’ art on your walls. It adds depth, colour, it creates layering for an overall pleasant atmosphere.
It is always better for your own wellbeing to have something meaningful to you. This doesn't need to cost the earth. A ripped page from a book with illustrations, a postcard from your travels or a scarf in a nice frame can do a pretty good job. I would pay special attention to the actual frame in order to make it look richer. A mount is always recommended, as it adds the layering your walls crave for. (Big box shops like taget, home depo and even ikea supply a wide variety of good looking frames)
And if you are too busy to do this, but still want to introduce colour, add texture, and show some care for your home I’ve compiled a list of Studio Andreea Franca approved pieces that will look fantastic in nearly any space!
